He was predeceased by : his parents, Angelo Balsano and Myrtle Balsano (Spangler); and his siblings, Rosalee Hannah, Margaret Presley, Sylvestor Balsano, James "Gene" Balsano, Mary Fritz and William "Bill" Balsano.

He is survived by : his wife Alice Balsano of Murphysboro; his children, Joe Balsano, Jr. (Kim) of Murphysboro, Jeff Balsano (Leah), Steve Balsano (Susan) of Murphysboro and Christine Burnett (Rex) of Buckner; and his siblings, Eloise Jeremiah of Murphysboro, Madelyn Layne of Murphysboro, Wayne Balsano of Murphysboro and Ben Balsano of Carbondale. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
