It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Raleigh Jefferson Penrod of Murphysboro, Illinois, who passed away on October 27, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Estes Penrod and Ada Penrod (Sims); and his siblings, Judith and Richard. He is survived by : his wife Vicki Penrod of Murphysboro, IL; his sisters, Shirley Allen of Cahokia, IL and Esther Barr of El Dorado, AR; and his nieces and nephews, Cindy Van Meter, Beth Ann Sefzik, Anthony Van Meter, James Barr and Jason Barr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southern Illinois in RJ's honor and will be accepted at the funeral home.
