She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Saupe and Erna Saupe (Roth); her husband William N. Boese; and her brothers, Robert Saupe and Ruben Saupe.

She is survived by: her children, Brenda Fox, Sandra Norman, Camilla Sawalich (Steve), Vanessa Lirely (Todd) and Michael Boese (Jodi); and her grandchildren, Will Fox (Jennifer), Pam Freeman (Alan), Laura White, Tabitha Mack (Dave), Tassie Doellman (Nick), Alayna Roper (Jayden), Alexa Boese and AJ Boese. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great-nephews/nieces.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial donations in Ruth's honor may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro.
