The memory of Walter Burl Shipley (Murphysboro, Illinois), who passed away on September 11, 2025 at the age of 82, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shipley and Bessie Shipley (Huskey); his sister Ann Weatherly; and his aunts, Dorothy Huskey, Bea Blair and Mildred Wheeler.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Ann Bishop (Matthew) of Carbondale, IL and John L. Shipley (EunMi Choi) of Davis, CA; his grandchildren, Lily, Olivia, Molly Bishop of Carbondale, Taejoon Shipley of Davis and Sir; and his brother John Bennie Shipley of Oliver Springs, TN.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 665 N Airport Rd, Murphysboro, IL 62966.
