He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shipley and Bessie Shipley (Huskey); his sister Ann Weatherly; and his aunts, Dorothy Huskey, Bea Blair and Mildred Wheeler.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Ann Bishop (Matthew) of Carbondale, IL and John L. Shipley (EunMi Choi) of Davis, CA; his grandchildren, Lily, Olivia, Molly Bishop of Carbondale, Taejoon Shipley of Davis and Sir; and his brother John Bennie Shipley of Oliver Springs, TN.
