He was predeceased by : his parents, Cleve Hickam and Effie Hickam (Hoover); his siblings, Virgil, Leonard, Clyde, Clifford, Grover, Paul, Herbert, Mildred, Carrie, Imogene and Lena; and his grandson Seth William Johnson.
He is survived by : his children, Bruce Hickam (Kimberly), Gary Hickam, Sherry Johnson (Kerry), John Cox, Allison Hickam (Jeremy Partridge), Joe Hickam and Ashley Riggio (Mario). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
