He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Parrish and Alice Parrish (Robinson); his former life partner Shirley Parrish; his wife Iona Parrish (Schmidt); his daughter Sherry Smith; and his siblings, Tom Parrish, Ira Parrish, Dorothy Davis, Irene Shewmaker, Mary Ferguson Parrish, Sarah Doerr and Lulabelle Boulden.

He is survived by : his former life partner Shirley Rains; his daughters, Deanice Owens (John) and Wilene Hanna (Bob); his grandchildren, Tracie Roseme (Chris), Cathy Macke (Sid), Freddie Owens, Tara Owens, Veronica Clennon and Matthew Hanna (Nelsie); his siblings, Paul Parrish (Viola) and Sharon Maynor (Richard); and his son-in-law Mike Smith. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
