He is survived by: his wife Barbara Broadnax of Elgin; his siblings, Jeraldine Taylor (Willie) of Grand Rapids, MI, Betty Bonds (Kennedy) of Gary, IN and Harold Lancaster of Indianapolis, IN; his children, Alvin Kennedy, Jr. of Glendale, Ronald Kennedy of North Chicago, IL, Denise Gordon (James) of Orland Park, IL and Sheila Kennedy of Elgin, IL; his grandchildren, Terrence Kennedy of Elgin, IL, Shaundeise Hinton of Elgin, IL and Corey Isbell of Elgin, IL; his daughters, Melissa Chambers (Bell) of San Antonio, Texas, Roden Wade, Jr. (Jewey) of Miamisburg, OH, Nique Wade, Ki'Ana McClelland of Carpentersville, IL and Darien Kennedy of Atlanta, GA; and his siblings-in-law, Ernie, Lester Broadnax and Arlene Spann (Broadnax) of Elgin, IL. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
