Angelina Akulow Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 17, 2025, at the age of 98, Angelina Akulow of Naperville, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Angelina Akulow to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Domenico Ferrari and Mary Ferrari (Colo); her husband Mike Akulow Sr. of Royalton; and her brother Robert Ferrari. She is survived by: her children, Mike Akulow, Jr. (Jean) of Topeka, KS and Merri Melin (Keith) of Batavia, IL.; her grandsons, Jayson Melin (Amy) of Deer Park, IL, Scott Melin (Jill) of Grand Rapids, MI and Craig Melin of North Aurora, IL.; her great grandchildren, Jaycob, Adeline, Evelyn Melin, Zachary, Audrey Melin, Caden and Cole Melin; her cousins, Nancy Compton, Louis Kalert (Mae), Ben Kalert, Cheryl Ross (Ron), Gerrie Biscontini, Marlene Wood (Wendell) and Michael Colo (MaryAlice); and her sibling's children, Gayle Brandon (Dennis), Patricia Janszky (Andrew), Carol Ferrari and Keith Ferrari (Kim).

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vantrease-Pyle Funeral Home of Zeigler (101 Wilcox Ave, Zeigler, IL 62999). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Aloysius-Sacred Heart Church (212 S Pecan St, Royalton, IL 62983).

For those who would prefer to leave a lasting tribute to Angelina's life, memorial donations may be directed to either Glaucoma Research Foundation, American Macular Degeneration Foundation or St Raphael Catholic Church.
