He was predeceased by: his wife Marianne Bankert Downey; his former wife Eileen Downey; his son James Downey; his parents, Henry Downey and Marie Downey; and his brother Henry Downey (late Jean).
He is survived by: his children, Edward Downey, Jr. (Shannon) and Catherine Fletcher (Thomas); his grandchildren, Eamon, Michaela, Meghan, Brianna and Maeve; and his sister Marie Sikes (late Richard).
