He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo J. Brummel and Gertrude Brummel (Modaff) of Naperville, IL.; his son Ronald Joseph; and his siblings, Leo (Delores), Nicholas, Henry (Margaret), Robert, Barbara (Richard Koretke) and Mary (Robert Kammes).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Mittman of Wheaton; his sons, Steven (Debra) and Daniel; his stepdaughters, Diane Brummel and Karen Garland (Bruce); his great grandchildren, Katie Henschel, Erin (Daniel), Flaschar, Matthew Brummel and Christopher (Miranda); his granddaughters, Alexandra McCracken (Nicholas), Gabrielle Garland and Juliana Garland; his brother Richard Brummel (Alice); and his sisters-in-law, Pat Brummel and Loretta Brummel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edwin Brummel Memorial Fund. Charities will include St. John Neumann in St. Charles, Chicago Honor Flight, Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation, and Illinois Independent Living Center (at Katherine Manor Apartment).
