He was predeceased by: his spouses, Sandra Smith Benner and Jean DeVries Benner; his parents, Leo Benner and Vi Benner; and his sister Loretta Hauser (late Bruno).
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Wilkins (Grayson), Steven Benner (Cynthia) and Laura King (William); his stepchildren, Linda Van Horn (Ramsey), Jerry DeVries, Debbie Schweer (Tom) and Brenda Gregory (Brad); his grandchildren, Terry Simon (Emily), Dan Simon (Anna Coleman), Kate, Chris Benner, Alexandra and Meghan King; and his brother David Benner (Mary).
