He is survived by: his wife Janice Maycan Wilson; his children, Douglas John Wilson (Jacqueline) and Jordan Bakovic (Igor); his granddaughter Iva; his sister Jacqueline McGrath (James); his nephew Greg McGrath (Annie); his niece Laura Yoo (Jaylen); his sister Jackie; and his granddaughter Tatiana.

“Sorry to hear of John’s passing. I went to grammar school with him and played Little League. He also led our Ping Pong group to win the Chicago playground citywide championship and he was the best player on our team. I had the honor of having lunch with John about 10 years ago. I believe we ate in Naperville. At that time, I learned of his struggles with cancer and learned of his frequent visits to Southern California. My sympathies to his family, even if you don’t know me.”
