She was predeceased by: her daughter Phyllis Hirsch (John) of Palatine; her husbands, L. Phillip Bernardi and Werner Buerman; and her parents, Charles Swegle and Marie Witt Swegle.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Bernardi (Carol) of Naperville and Thomas Bernardi (Elizabeth) of Naperville; her grandchildren, Christinia Hirsch, Joanna Lange (Jeff), Alissa Palko (Andrew), Ross Bernardi (Samantha), Alan Bernardi (Terese) and Eric Bernardi (Viviana); and her great grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Benjamin, William, June, Grant, Jack, Blair, Samuel and Paige.
