He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Solak and Mary Solak; his siblings, Sylvia Marich and Allen Orzechowski; and also, Luke and Alice Symik.

He is survived by: his wife Laurette Solak (Symik); his children, Allison Phillips (David) and Lucas Solak; his grandchildren, Chloe, Tatum and Baby Phillips; his brother Tom Solak (Betty); his nieces and nephews, Mark Marich, Rebecca Martinez, Erik Ehrman, Rachel Ehrman, Tommy Kohl and Lauren Kohl; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Madison Robinson and Zoey Martinez; and his pet Penny.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (1450 Green Trails Dr, Naperville, IL 60540). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
