He was predeceased by: his siblings-in-law, Edward Taylor (Carol), John Taylor (Cindy), Nancy Ryan (Dan), Eileen Knightly (Patrick), Thomas Taylor (Diane) and Therese Provenzano (Carmen); his parents, John Ryan Fitzgibbons and Nora Fitzgibbons; his siblings, John B. Fitzgibbons (late Elizabeth), Father Alphonsus Fitzgibbons, Mary Powers (late John), Margaret Allison (late Hugh), Francis Fitzgibbons and Eamon Fitzgibbons (late Geraldine); and his parents-in-law, Ed and Mary Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Maureen; his daughters, Julie Leichtman (Max) and Katie Fitzgibbons; and his granddaughters, Elizabeth and Abigail Leichtman.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home (44 S Mill St, Naperville, IL 60540). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (1450 Green Trails Dr, Naperville, IL 60540).
