He was predeceased by : his brother Wing Yim. He is survived by : his children, John Yim (Julie Kowalski) and Jennie Yim; and his granddaughters, Rachel Yim and Katie Yim. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephew.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Naperville Presbyterian Church (943 Sanctuary Ln, Naperville, IL 60540). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
