He was predeceased by: his parents, Simpson Walter and Maggie Poindexter Quaid; his wife Helena "Helen" Quaid; his daughter Starlette; and his grandson Chase.
He is survived by: his nephew Bill Craig; and his children, Kevin (Ada), Troy (Twila), Dennis (Loryn), Sookie (Brian) and James (Dawn). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Jim's memory consider a donation to a local American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars post, or other community or veterans' service organization.
