He was predeceased by : his parents, William J. "Bill" Richards and Mary Joanna Richards (Carson). He is survived by : his children, Erica Richards (Kevin Hiatt) of Troy and Dustin Richards (Emily) of Granite City; his grandchildren, Dustin Richards Jr., Samantha Johns and Sophia Johns; and his siblings, Gary Richards (Ruthann) of Nashville and Gail Schamel (Kurt) of St. Louis. He is also survived by several nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Granite City APA or to Partners for Pets in Troy and may be accepted at the funeral home.
