He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Charles and Lola May Pilkington (Scheetz); and his brother-in-law B. J. Gibson. He is survived by: his wife Karla Kyburz; his children, Scott Pilkington (Jennette Shuman) of Nauvoo, Shane Pilkington (Amanda) of Edwardsville, Illinois and Angel Brewer (Chet) of Brookings, Oregon; his grandchildren, Cole, Trentin, Brody, Hunter, Aurora, Calla and Cas; his great grandchild Cameron; and his siblings, Connie Hobart (John) of Warsaw, Theresa Crabtree of Vermont, Rachel Gibson of Nauvoo, Illinois, Dan Pilkington of Nauvoo, John Pilkington of Summersville and Michael Pilkington (Love Joy) of Chattanooga, Tennessee.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial has been established in his memory for Nauvoo Fire & Rescue or Hearts of Hancock Humane Society.
