He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Bertrum and Verna Edna Buchanan Scranton; his spouse Ollie May McAfee; and his sons, Mike Scranton and Steve Scranton.

He is survived by: his children, Darrell Scranton of Pleasant Hill and Diane Simpson of Nebo. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
