He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul F. Carpenter and Margaret E. Lewis Carpenter; and his brother Myron Carpenter. He is survived by : his former life partner Sandra Ann Forgey; his wife Sandra "Sandy" A. Carpenter of Nebo; his daughter Barb Hubbard (Kenny, II) of Clarksville, MO; his granddaughters, Amanda Steinhage (Walt) of Clarksville, MO and Michelle Hurd (Jay) of Troy, MO; his great grandchildren, Braxton, Beretta Steinhage and Jaylee Hurd; his siblings, Kay Conners (David) of Pleasant Hill and Jim Carpenter (Gina) of Pleasant Hill; his brother-in-law Larry Forgey of Pleasant Hill; and his nephews, Matt Conners, Luke Conners, Adam Carpenter and Shawn Carpenter.

Memorials may be made to the Crescent Heights Cemetery Association or to the Pleasant Hill Fire Department.
