He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Groves and Vera Groves (Phelps); his in-laws, Harold and Ada Beals; his sisters, Nina Ewing (Roger), Patty Spencer (Donald) and Kay Groves; his brothers-in-law, Delbert Spencer and Harrison Blankenship; and his great grandchild Jocelyn Groves.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Mae Groves of Mattoon; his children, Bradley Dean Groves (Susan) of Trilla, John Edward Groves (Kathy) of Chattanooga, Kimberly Gay Wheeler (Steve) of Trilla, Doneda Mae Wallace (Jim) of Trilla and Delight JaNee Hopson (Kenneth) of Kampala; his grandchildren, Adam Groves (Amanda), David Groves (Amy), Valerie Groves, Greg Groves (Marie), John Calvin Groves (Kym), Laura Fowler (Chris), Daniel Groves (Tiffany), Beki Hodges (JR), Nathan Wheeler (Jordan), Matthew Wallace (Heather), Heather Haggard (Kenny), Justin Wallace (Tiffany), Kaleb Hopson (Daelynn), Austin Hopson (Sarah) and Emilee Hopson; and his sisters, Marilyn Spencer and Carol Blankenship. He is also survived by 34 great-grandchildren.
