He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ray and Cora Brown (Cook); his wife Wanda Brown; his grandson Joshua Kirkley; his great grandchild Ethan Brown; and his siblings, John Charles Brown, Joe Brown, Bonnie Jenkins and Linda Lankster.
He is survived by: his children, James A. Brown (Donnie) of Neoga and Rhonda Kirkley (Rick) of Findlay, Illinois; his grandchildren, Rachel Kirkley of Sullivan, Ryan Kirkley (Sarah) of Decatur, Jeremy Kirkley of Sullivan, Bobby Brown (Val) of Dieterich and Tony Brown (Dee) of Oakland, Illinois; and his siblings, Michael Brown (Debbie) of Dennison, Bob Brown of Paris, Illinois, Debbie Gifford of Pisgah, Katie Richard and Lavon of Marshall, Illinois. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Disabled Veterans or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
