He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shutt and Betty Shutt (Seig); his brother Doug Shutt; his mother-in-law Kay Smith; and his brother-in-law Chadlee Cole Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Smith; his daughters, Brittney Shuemaker (Garet) and Briana Hartleroad (Brandon); his grandchildren, Avery, Amelia Shuemaker, Aubree and Carter Hartleroad; his siblings, Karen Shutt and Butch Shutt; and his sister-in-law Linda Shutt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Mattoon American Legion Post # 88.
