He is survived by: his children, Brenda Bernhardt of New Baden, IL, David Alan Kernan, Jr. (Kaitlin Jones) of Alton, IL and Amanda Kernan of New Athens, IL; his grandchildren, Allan Bernhardt (Amber), Brendan Bernhardt (Rylee), Blake Bernhardt (Julia), David Kernan III (Jessica), McKenzie Gann (Hunter), Aspen Kernan, Bryson Kernan and Blayne Kernan; his great grandchildren, Baylor Bernhardt, Bennett Bernhardt, Ira Gann, Barrett Kernan and Brayden Kernan; and his brothers-in-law, Leslie Hornbeck, Terry Hornbeck (Sue) and Carroll Hornbeck.
