He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schatte and Lucille Schatte (Dinges); his stepmother Virginia Schatte; his brother Darryl Schatte; his sister-in-law Barb Schatte; and his nephew Dan Schatte.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Nagel; his child Daron; his brother Dennis Schatte of New Athens, IL; and his grandchildren, Denae, Danika White (Chase Daugherty), Davin, Derek Schatte, Demi, Drea Schatte, Brooke, Jacey and Raegen Trentman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to be made to the Siteman Cancer Center or St. Louis University Speech Program.
