We announce the death of Robert Shipp of New Athens, Illinois, born in Toronto, Ontario, who passed away on August 24, 2026, at the age of 65. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Robert’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Philip Shipp; his daughters, Brianna Wilson (Nick) of Marissa, IL and Brooke Shipp of New Athens, IL.; his grandchildren, Kyra, Ryder, Pyper and Rylee; his mother Charlotte Shipp; and his sisters, Rita Wiggins of New Athens, IL and Brenda Roddy of New Athens. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home (101 S Jackson St, New Athens, IL 62264). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
