He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Bateman of Dupo, IL, James "Scutler" Bateman Jr. (Mercedes) of New Baden, IL and Tammie Bateman (Mike) of Belleville, IL; his grandchildren, Justin Bateman (Amy) of New Baden, IL, Jessie Simington of Dupo, IL, Jamie Salaam (Tillman) of Cahokia Heights, IL, Katlyn Bateman (John) of Freeburg, IL and Levi Hooker (Kasey) of Belleville, IL; his great grandchildren, Madison (Miles), Julia, Reign, Lindsey, Hayley, E'melio, Tillman Jr., Ahziyah and Aamiyah; his great great grandchild Bodhi; and his siblings, Linda Hamilton of Belleville, IL, Frank Bateman (Laurie) of Marissa, IL, John Bateman (Debbie) and Marilyn Callahan (Jack) of Florida.
In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations sent to the Shriners for Children.
