He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph "Skip" Kehrer and Jean Kehrer (Ford); and his parents-in-law, Joseph and Anita Browy (Harpstrite). He is survived by: his significant other Jane Kehrer (Browy); his sons, Jason Kehrer (Carey) and Jeremy; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Jillian, Lucas, Parker and Miles; his brother Robert Kehrer (Susan); his siblings-in-law, Judi Herzing (Paul), Sandy Longshore, JoAnn Denaro (Doug), Kathy Browy, Patti Fochtmann (Glen), Lisa Browy (Bill Saxe) and Terry Fochtmann; his nieces and nephews, Travis Kehrer (Amanda), Marlaina Campbell (Josh), Alicia Heggemeier (Greg), Kevin Junk (Sarah), Bernadette Haertling, Becky Kiehna, Beth Fiene (Aaron), Bridgette Longshore, Sarah Denaro (Sean), Kyle Fochtmann of Collin and CJ Fochtmann (Erica); his aunts, Joan Krausz (Kehrer) and Joyce Santel (Ford); his brothers-in-law, David Longshore and Roger Junk; and his nephew William Longshore (Bill).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Nordike Funeral Home (15 E Hanover St, New Baden, IL 62265). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Steve's family has asked if anyone would like to help in any way, it would be wholeheartedly accepted with a donation to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. The care and compassion they provided for him and his loved ones for 12 days is without a doubt something in the line of heaven sent.
