She was predeceased by: her parents, Freeman Shoemaker and Helen Howard Shoemaker; her husband Bill Gaylor; her children, Cindy Franklin and Donald Carle; and her siblings, Freeman Shoemaker, Tina Byrd, Ben Shoemaker and Bill Shoemaker.

She is survived by: her children, William Carle of New Boston, Darlene Bates of New Boston, Dannette Janes (Rick) of Burlington and Michael Keith of New Boston; and her siblings, Virginia Briles of Keithsburg, Vicki Criesel (Terry) of Keithsburg, Rick Shoemaker (Donna) of Muscatine, Tim Shoemaker (Becky) of Keithsburg and Jeri Seargeant of Keithsburg. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
