He was predeceased by: his parents, William Tornquist and Sadie Tornquist (Johnson); his wife Shirley Lou Milner; and his siblings, Robert Tornquist, Margaret Ann Peterson and Sarah Hill.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Tornquist (Becky) of New Windsor, IL and Roberta Carlson (Sid) of Rio, IL; his granddaughters, Rhonda Copeland (Troy), Karen Tornquist, Lisa Weber (Ryan) and Lara Ritters (PJ); and his great grandchildren, Lauren, Jenna Copeland and Edward Carl Ritters. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calvary Lutheran Church (121 Meridian St, New Windsor, IL 61465). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hopewell Cemetery (878 305th St, New Windsor, IL 61465).
Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or Hopewell Cemetery.
