He was predeceased by: his parents, Carole Whalen and William Whalen; his brother John Whalen; his parents-in-law, Adolph and Elma Thompson; and his sister-in-law Kristi Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Whalen; his children, Ryan Whalen (Stephanie) and Megan Gunier (Tim); his grandchildren, Emma Gunier, Jack Gunier, Ainsley Whalen, Luke Whalen, Eloise Whalen and Liam Whalen; his siblings, Judy Kelly (Scott Mickelson), Jim Whalen (Brenda), Jolene Ciolino (Dave) and Jeff Whalen (Wendy); and his siblings-in-law, Andy Thompson, Sheldon Thompson (Nancy), David Thompson (Suzanne), Gloria Varness (Rollin) and Cindy Whalen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to West Lisbon Church or to Journey to Restoration.
