He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Hanson and Marville Hanson of Sandwich; and his siblings, Lawrence (Ida), Bonnie (Royal) and Sherwood (Wanda).
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his grandchildren, Jeff Kerr of Oswego, Sean Watts (Mary), Natalie Watts, Jamie Watts of Chicago, Haley Bonnivier (Bart) of Algonquin and Nelson Hanson of Chicago; and his great grandchildren, Eli, Landon Kerr of Oswego and Avery Marie Watts of Chicago.
Memorials can be made to Salem Lutheran Church.
