It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Carol Mechling of Newton, Illinois, who passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her siblings, Clara Hartrich, Ruth Winger, Sylvia Shanks, Roseanne Freeman, Bonnie Carter, Faye Helmbacher, Willie, Charles, George, Emery and Edgar.

She is survived by : her significant other Merle Ross Mechling; her children, Marcie Anderson (Dana), Donna Cravens (Stan) and David Mechling (Vicki); her grandchildren, Lindsey Dorn (Tobi), Haley Anderson, Daniel Cravens (Ashley), Matthew Cravens, Nicole Mechling and Justin Mechling; and her great grandchildren, Zechariah, Noah, Levi Dorn and Cohen Cravens. She is also survived by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to New Hope Church in Effingham or the Alzheimer's Association.
