With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Norman Baker of Newton, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 22, 2026 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl C. Baker and Hester H. Baker (Wolf); his sons, Clifford Baker and Roger Baker; his grandchildren, Jacklin Apke, Brittany Baker, Cassara Holland, Charles Kaufman, Tanya Gerhardt and Tequila Coy; his great grandchild Reid Baker; and his siblings, Earl Baker Jr., Paul Baker, Floyd Baker, Vernon Baker, Donald Baker, George Baker, Max Baker, Sarah Carpenter and Loretta Tegler.
He is survived by: his children, Alan, Anthony Baker of Sigel, Jerry Baker of Mattoon, Carl Baker of Wheeler, Jack Baker of Effingham, Jim, Gale Baker (Kelly) of Effingham, Illinois, Debbie White (Terry) of Toledo and Barbara Apke of Neoga, Illinois; and his siblings, Arthur "Tuffy" Baker of Sigel, Tom Baker of Effingham, Curtis Baker of Effingham, Illinois and Bonnie Baker of Sigel, Illinois. He is also survived by several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the family in care of Debra White.
