He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Ray and Ruth Kautz (Stiff); his wife Ethel Frohning; his son Micheal Kautz; and his brother Michael Kautz.

He is survived by : his children, Susan O'Brien of Xenia, Illinois, Keith Kautz (Terri) of West Liberty, Illinois, Elaine Kautz of Evansville, Indiana and Melinda Lans-Kautz (Diane) of Elmhurst; his partner Myrtle McReynolds of Newton, Illinois.; and his sisters, Sara Helregel (Don) of Lexington, Barbara Hinkel (Galen) of Dundas, Illinois and Nancy Parker of Olney. He is also survived by his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In loving memory of Ray, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom (AITC).
