He was predeceased by: his father Frank Key; his grandparents, Charles, Minnie Key, Everett and Verona Gaskill; his mother-in-law Catherine Westendorf; and his sisters-in-law, Marlene Ochs and Jan Westendorf.
He is survived by: his mother Ella Mae Key (Gaskill) of Montrose, Illinois; his wife Barbara Key; his children, Maria Spiker (Eric), Tony Key (Megan) and Doug Key (Kate) of Powhatan, Virginia; his grandchildren, Daniel Spiker, Ryan Spiker, Mitchell Spiker, Jamari Key, Griffin Key, Eve Key, Celeste Key and Grayson Key; his brother Keith Key (Correanna) of Montrose, Illinois; his father-in-law Vincent Westendorf of Effingham, Illinois; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Westendorf of Effingham, Illinois, Jerry Westendorf (Diane), Dave Westendorf (Paula) and Don Ochs of Newton, Illinois.
