“I know this message is almost a year late. I met Mr Sklar as a 5th grade cellist. I waited years to finally play under his direction at Hinsdale Township High School Central . I remember him as kind, and a force to be reckoned with as he conducted our orchestra. I remember the concert where he tore the shoulder seam right out of his jacket! He also inspired my adult life. His belief in me has stayed with me. Words are inadequate;; I feel privileged to have known him. Dayna Wetherill Schaefer”
