He was predeceased by: his father Paul Martens; and his father-in-law Jim Brewer. He is survived by: his mother Flo Martens (Lubker) of Carthage, IL; his wife Betsy Martens of Niota, IL; his children, Drew Martens, Jakeb Martens (Lakinn Larson), Jaedann Martens and Carson Martens; and his brothers, Todd Martens (Rachael) of Dallas City, IL and Mike Martens (Julie) of Moline, IL. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to an education fund for his children.
