She was predeceased by: her parents, Gust Johnson and Anna Johnson; her husband Carlton Paul Schulke of Aurelia; and her son Martin (Tricia Kennedy). She is survived by: her children, Steve (Cheryl), Gary (Beth), Cindy (Jeff Linert) and Dian (Jeff Mauth); her grandchildren, Nicholas, Evan, Wesley, Cameron, Forest, Casey, Jamie, Caitlin, Kyle, Anna and Luke; and her great grandchildren, Marcella, Lumi and Dylan.

Memorials in Bethene's name can be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
