With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Sperlin of Normal, Illinois, born in Urbana, Illinois, who passed away on September 9, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmund G. Sperlin and Hazel Fern Hershbarger Sperlin; her grandparents, Elizabeth, Lawrence Hershbarger, Homer and Ethel Beggs Sperlin; her sisters, Marcia and Pamela; her aunt Thelma; her uncle Byron Sanders; and her friend Jill Munro Vernon (Terry Gries).
She is survived by: her friends, Denise Kane, Zona Steege Guttschow and Jane Scott Foreman; her sister Linda; her brother-in-law Mel Wollenschlager; her nieces, Tara Bacon, Sally Straub and Molly Straub Thomas; her nephew Steven Straub (Laurel); her cousins, Steven Sanders and Sally Corby; her great-nieces, Allison and KatharineStraub; her friends, Donna Wiles, Phyllis Staker, Dr. JoAnn Rayfield, Caroline Cornell, Dodd Vernon, Dr. Karen Pfost, Pam, Mike Brown, Peggy and Tom Abbott; and also, John P. Noonan, Ed King, Eric, Susan Tioro, Robin Trost, Durinda French, Rich Banner and Kim Guttschow.
