He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Henry and Margaret Guthoff (Smith); and his grandson Casey James Zammit. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Jane Shipp; his daughters, Debbie Guthoff (Deborah Ishmael) of Hudson, IL and Cindy Zammit (James) of Damascus, Maryland; and his grandchildren, Lindsey Ishmael of Morristown, TN. and Purdue.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Calvert & Metzler (Bloomington) (1115 E Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Calvert Metzler Memorial (1115 E Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701).
Memorials may be made in Ron's name to University of Illinois student athletes (Illini Excellence gifts), Ruby's Rescue and Retreat, Lifeline Pilots of Peoria or Kiwanis Club of Bloomington for Camp Limberlost.
