Ruth I. Abbott Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 6, 2025, at the age of 98, Ruth I. Abbott of Normal, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Ruth touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Powers and Ellen Ferne Warrick Powers; her son-in-law Vaughn Martino; and her brother James Powers. She is survived by: her children, Diane Martino of Congerville, IL and Daryl Abbott of Normal, IL; her granddaughter Staci Price (Rodney) of Clinton, IL; her great grandchild Austin Wickenhauser of Wapella, IL; her stepgreat-grandson Nick Price (Victoria) of Clinton, IL; and her sister-in-law Genny Powers of Pana, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
