Federico leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Federico’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. He was predeceased by: his wife Nelida Cartagena; and his great-grandparents, Fred (Amber Kolanowski), Ethan Kolanowski (Brooke Long), Gabriel Kolanowski and Benjamin Kolanowski.
He is survived by: his child Merrean Kolanowski; his grandchildren, Fred, Kenny Kolanowski and Lisa Tarr; and his godson Edgar Burgos.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cumberland Chapels (8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL 60706). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
