She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas D. Newton and Agnes V. Newton of Chicago; her son Gregory; her brother Donald Thomas Newton; her former life partner Joseph Nolan Miller; and her close friend Marjorie Wood.

She is survived by : her sons, Wayne Miller (Pamela) of Park Ridge and Steven Miller of Chicago; her grandsons, Aaron Miller (Cate) of Los Angeles and Timothy Miller (Beth Davis) of Gary; and her son-in-law Kelly Leggett of Chicago.
