With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Weiterschan (Norridge, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son John; his wife Irmgard; his daughters, Helga A. Grosskopf (Joseph) and Ingrid M. Weiterschan (Walter Szulczewski); his parents, Katharina and Ferdinand; his grandchildren, Vanessa Noreika (Dan), Natasha Grosskopf (Jesus Sanchez) and Walter Szulczewski; his great grandchild Katie Jane Noreika; his sister Katharina Voelker (Anton); and his brother-in-law John Unterreiner (Hilda Schneider).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Society of the Danube Swabians of Chicago at 625 E. Seegers Road Des Plaines, Illinois 60016 or to the American Heart Association.
