He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Scott and Ruth Scott; his sister Barbara Scott; and his nephew Jeff Ozburn. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his cousins, Burt Wright III (Kathy) and Linda Hoffmann (Phil); his sibling's children, Jeanne Nelson (Danny), Laurie Ozburn, Greg Ozburn and Chris Ozburn (Celeste); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lauren Ozburn, Laine Ozburn, Duncan Ozburn, Gracie Ozburn, Hana Nelson, Miles Nelson, Noah Ozburn and Zuzu Ozburn.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Salvation Army Norridge Citadel Corps Community Center (8354 W Foster Ave, Norridge, IL 60706). A funeral service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the The Salvation Army Norridge Citadel (8354 W Foster Ave, Norridge, IL 60706).
