He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Sr. Szczech and Josephine Szczech; and his cousin Geraldine Smentek. He is survived by: his wife Mary Szczech; his siblings-in-law, Karen and Gail Mazzocchi; his sibling's children, Kari, Nicky and Eddie Mazzocchi (Tara); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jessica Eubanks, Nicholas (Arianna), Kyle (Taylor), MacKenzie, Gianna and Carly Mazzocchi.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cumberland Chapels (8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL 60706). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Mother of the Church (8747 W Lawrence Ave, Chicago, IL 60656).
