He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Knipp and Dorothy Knipp (O'Donnell); his son Michael Knipp; and his son-in-law Justin Bates. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gatziolis; his daughter Denise Knipp Bates of Mahomet; and his grandchildren, Hayden Bates and Morgan Bates.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests that you celebrate Dennis' life with a donation to the High School of Saint Thomas More Baseball Team.
