He was predeceased by: his parents, John Peterson and Olga Peterson (Swanson); and his spouse Beverly Peterson. He is survived by: his daughters, Penny Peterson (Marc Noailles), Lois Peterson and Ingrid Macy (Rob); his grandson Brennan Noailles; and his close friend Meredith Morris.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Iner's memory to The Nature Conservancy or UNICEF.
